MINSK, 9 April (BelTA) – The international forum on information and communications technologies TIBO is designed to showcase cutting-edge digital technologies and will contribute to their broader adoption. Belarusian Communications and Informatization Minister Konstantin Shulgan made the statement during the opening ceremony of the exhibition held as part of the TIBO 2019 forum on 9 April, BelTA has learned.
According to Konstantin Shulgan, good initial conditions for the successful digital transformation and for ensuring the competitive ability of the economy have been enabled in Belarus. The forum's format was worked out taking into account the priority development tasks formulated by the head of state and the government regarding the development of this sphere. Along with stands of leading Belarusian and foreign telecommunication and IT companies, and innovative startups the expo features collective stands of industries as well as a national exposition of Azerbaijan.
“The main purpose of the forum is to assist with the effective digital transformation of the economy and the state administration system. TIBO vividly demonstrates how information technologies can be effectively used in various spheres of activity,” Konstantin Shulgan noted.
The communications and informatization minister went on saying that a new approach to organizing the event had been chosen. The expo is built around an exposition of the Communications and Informatization Ministry, the Operations and Analysis Center, and other central government agencies. Primarily finished digital solutions have been put on display. They have been created on the basis of modern technological trends and have been assimilated in various areas: the production sector, social sphere organizations, healthcare, education, and other ones.
Apart from traditional sections the expo has a new one dedicated to the ecosystem of innovations where innovative infrastructure entities and the projects they have helped implement are represented. The number includes technological clusters, business incubators, technology transfer centers, and venture capital funds.
The exposition Educational Parkway introduces visitors to services of state-owned and private education institutions and education content for distant learning.
Konstantin Shulgan stressed that participants of the forum are offered an intensive program, which will be interesting both to specialists and to those, who have come here for the first time.
In turn, Russian Digital Development, Communications, and Mass Media Minister Konstantin Noskov praised the forum's organization, which is testified by the large number of visitors and stands featuring cutting-edge technologies.
TIBO 2019 is scheduled to take place at premises of Minsk Arena on 8-12 April. The forum features major events in the area of information and communications technologies involving heads of international and regional organizations, foreign government agencies and mobile carriers. The number includes the Eurasian Digital Forum, the Belarusian ICT Summit, a conference on frequency spectrum management for the CIS, Central and Eastern Europe states, and a seminar of the International Telecommunication Union on radio monitoring.
