Brest Oblast welcomes over 30,000 visitors over May long weekend

BREST, 5 May (BelTA) - More than 30,000 people visited the main tourist locations in Brest Oblast during the long weekend on 1-3 May, BelTA learned from the Brest Oblast Executive Committee.

The Brest Hero Fortress Memorial Complex ranks among the most visited places in Belarus overall. Over 1-3 May some 233 tourist groups, approximately 11,900 people, visited the legendary stronghold of courage. Since the beginning of this year, more than 133,000 people as part of nearly 4,000 groups have visited the Brest Fortress.

Taking advantage of the long weekend and excellent weather, many Belarusians and foreign visitors headed to Belovezhskaya Pushcha National Park, which welcomed 10,500 tourists. Since the start of the year, the national park has received 120,000 visitors.

The animal park in Baranovichi also ranks among the top tourist locations in Brest Oblast. During the long weekend, it was visited by more than 9,500 people. Overall, about 50,600 tourists have visited the animal park since the beginning of the year.
