CIS foreign ministers to consider draft action plan on international youth cooperation

MINSK, 30 March (BelTA) - Experts of the CIS member states have finalized the draft action plan for 2021-2022 to implement the CIS strategy of international youth cooperation. An additional meeting of the expert group was held on 29 March via video-conferencing, BelTA learned from the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.

“The experts finalized and coordinated the draft plan taking into account the comments and suggestions received from the states. The document is scheduled to be signed at a meeting of the CIS Foreign Ministers Council in Moscow on 2 April,” the press service said.

The strategy defines approaches to the main goals, objectives, principles, areas, forms and mechanisms used in the development of youth cooperation in the CIS in the new realities. The document reflects the factors that create additional opportunities for such cooperation.

The strategy is based on the notion that youth cooperation is an essential element of sustainable, effective social and economic development, scientific and technical progress of every CIS state and the Commonwealth of Independent States as a whole, as well as keeping and deepening partnership and friendly relations among states, increasing competitiveness of states in the age of globalization.

Attending the meeting were representatives of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly, the Interstate TV and Radio Company Mir and the CIS Executive Committee.
