Belavia to perform first flight to Rostov-on-Don on 27 April

MINSK, 16 January (BelTA) - The Belarusian national air carrier Belavia will make the first flight on the route Minsk-Rostov-on-Don-Minsk on 27 April, BelTA learned from the press service of the carrier.

Flights to Rostov-on-Don will be operated on a regular basis four times a week departing from Minsk at 23.10 on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday and arriving at Platov International Airport of Rostov-on-Don at 01.25 next day. The return flight from Rostov-on-Don will depart at 4.00 on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday and arrive at Minsk National Airport at 6.20. The time for all airports is local.

“We expect that the direct flight between Minsk and Rostov-on-Don will contribute to the economic growth of both cities and the development of cooperation between Belarus and regions of Russia. In addition, we are confident that this flight will be popular during the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Fans from Belarus and European countries will be able to have a comfortable journey to Rostov-on-Don,” General Director of Belavia Anatoly Gusarov said.

Embraer 175 with the passenger capacity of 76 seats will be used for the flight to Rostov-on-Don. The journey time will be approximately 2:20.

At www.belavia.by the fares start at €106 one way, taxes and fees included, and at €199 two-way. Tickets are already available for sale.

At the moment the Belarusian carrier operates scheduled flights to the following Russian destinations: Moscow (Domodedovo), Moscow, St. Petersburg (Pulkovo), Krasnodar, Sochi and Kaliningrad (Khrabrovo), Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan (as from April 2018).

Belavia is Belarus' largest air carrier. Based in the Minsk National Airport, it offers regular flights to 47 destinations in 26 European and Asian countries.

Platov International Airport of Rostov-on-Don serves international and domestic flights. It is one of the largest airports in the Southern Federal District of Russia. The airport collaborates with 30 Russian and foreign airlines.
