Belarus' MFA, foreign embassies mark Children's Day with charity event

MINSK, 1 June (BelTA) - On International Children's Day, the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and diplomats from foreign countries donated their gifts to several children's homes, BelTA learned from the official Facebook page of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The event brought together the embassies of Austria, the Vatican, the UK, Venezuela, Italy, China, Palestine, Poland, Slovakia, Serbia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Czech Republic, Estonia and Sweden. Belarusian and foreign diplomats attempted to bring new colors and add positive emotions to the life of orphaned children, pupils of the Molodechno special secondary residential school for children with visual impairments, Cherven residential home for special needs children and Minsk orphanage No.3.

Dozens of gifts were collected during the charity event "Together with Children”. "We are grateful to everyone for the smiles, happy eyes and laughter of the children!" the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

The ministry also noted that the event can be supported by everyone, not necessarily solely on 1 June. "Give, albeit small but nice, pleasant and useful gifts to children of Belarusian children's homes, residential schools, family-type residential homes. Let us share our warmth and kindness with our children! This may sound trite, but every child matters,” the ministry said.
