MINSK, 8 October (BelTA) - On 9 October 2024 the Belarusian Communications and Informatization Ministry will launch the postage stamp to celebrate “150 Years of the Universal Postal Union”, BelTA learned from the Belarusian national postal service Belpochta.
9 October 2024 will mark the 150th anniversary of the Universal Postal Union (UPU), an international organization that regulates international postal services and that unites 192 countries. The UPU member countries have issued commemorative postage stamps for the event.
To mark the anniversary, the UPU International Bureau has decided to put into place a dedicated commemorative cancellation service, which will be provided to the general public free of charge.
