
MINSK, 23 October (BelTA) – Over the past 24 hours, the queue of passenger cars waiting to enter Lithuania and Poland has nearly tripled, the State Border Committee of Belarus told BelTA.
As of 10:00, 130 passenger cars and 9 buses were waiting to enter Poland near the border checkpoint Terespol (Brest on the Belarusian side). Over the past day, its personnel handled 43% of the normal number of vehicles.
There are 150 passenger cars in front of the Lithuanian border checkpoints Medininkai (Kamenny Log) and Salcininkai (Benyakoni). Their personnel cleared 46% of the normal number of cars.
A total of 5,600 trucks are waiting to enter the EU across all checkpoints. The busiest one is the Polish checkpoint Kukuryki (Kozlovichi), where 3,455 trucks are queuing up. The lowest number of trucks entered the EU via the Lithuanian border checkpoint Medininkai (Kamenny Log). Its personnel accepted only 10% of the normal number of trucks.
There are 710 trucks queuing up near the Lithuanian border checkpoint Salcininkai (Benyakoni). Its personnel checked 24% of the normal number of trucks. Over 650 trucks are waiting to enter the EU at the Latvian border checkpoint Paternieki (Grigorovshchina), where 38% of the normal number of trucks was handled.
