Another batch of humanitarian assistance sent for refugees stranded on Belarus-Poland border

MINSK, 16 November (BelTA) - The united organization of the Belarusian Union of Women of the Belarusian Industry Ministry with the support of the Industry Ministry has collected another batch of humanitarian assistance for the refugees, BelTA has learned.

Today, 16 November, the humanitarian aid was sent to the border - more than 2,000 warm blankets, pillows, towels and related essential goods. "No one can remain indifferent to what is happening today on the Belarusian-Polish border. We sincerely empathize with children, the elderly, pregnant women, all those who are trapped at the border,” said the chairwoman of the united organization Nadezhda Lazarevich. "Therefore, we will do everything in our power to ensure that help reaches everyone who needs it."

Over the past three days activists of Grodno, Minsk and Minsk Oblast organizations have collected over 7,000 food packages and over 3,000 items of clothes.

Chairperson of Grodno Oblast Organization of the Belarusian Union of Women Irina Stepanenko believes: “Everyone who is in the current difficult situation now needs our help. We just cannot stay indifferent to other people's problems. We just cannot watch calmly the suffering of children and other women who stay in the cold, without food and shelter. The daily delivery of aid will continue as long as it is needed.”

Taking part in the collection of humanitarian aid were the following organizations of the Industry Ministry: Gorizont, BelOMO, Avtokomponenty, BELAVTOMAZ, Belarusian Metallurgical Company, JSC Belvtorchermet with its subsidiaries, BELAZ-HOLDING, Minsk Motor Plant, Bobruiskagromash, Integral, Minsk Tractor Plant, Gomselmash, Minsk Electrotechnical Plant named after Kozlov, Planar Scientific and Production Holding of Precision Engineering, and Mogilevliftmash.
