Lukashenko wants EAEU to step up work to create common energy markets

MINSK, 21 May (BelTA) – The Eurasian Economic Union should accelerate the process to create common energy markets, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at the online meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council on 21 May, BelTA has learned.

“Taking advantage of the complementarity of our economies we will be able to achieve quick and effective economic progress in the EAEU. In order to reach the goals set forth in the EAEU strategy, we should step up work to create common energy markets,” the head of state stressed.

Aleksandr Lukashenko also hailed efforts to dismantle barriers, reduce the number of exceptions and limitations, and prevent the emergence of new barriers in the EAEU market. “Last year, we achieved great results in this field and we should keep up the good work,” the Belarusian president added.
