MINSK, 20 August (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has extended greetings to Hungarian President Tamás Sulyok, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and all citizens of Hungary as the country celebrates its national holiday – St. Stephen’s Day, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“A shared commitment to sovereignty and independence, along with a mutual reverence for national identity, spiritual heritage, and traditions, has long united our nations and created a foundation for deeper cultural and humanitarian cooperation,” the message of greetings reads.

Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasized that Belarus highly values Hungary’s commitment to peace and harmony in Europe. The Belarusian leader is confident that Minsk and Budapest are capable of making a joint contribution to strengthening regional security, the rule of law, and sustainable strategic stability. “I hope that cooperation between our countries will continue to develop on the basis of pragmatism, mutual support, and trust,” he added.
