MINSK, 27 February (BelTA) – The Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) and the Embassy of Türkiye are going to step up interaction in the field of exchange trade, the BUCE press service told BelTA.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Türkiye to Belarus Güçlü Cem Işik visited the central office of the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange in Minsk to get familiar with the operation of the exchange trade platform. A presentation of key peculiarities and capabilities of the BUCE trade platform was arranged. Negotiations with BUCE Chairman of the Board Aleksandr Osmolovsky also took place.
The parties discussed results of participation of Turkish companies in exchange trade in 2025-2026 and sketched out promising avenues of cooperation, which realization will help bolster trade and economic relations and will assist with the growth of mutual trade turnover between Belarus and Türkiye. An agreement was reached on stepping up BUCE’s cooperation with the Turkish embassy for the sake of promoting exchange-facilitated trade between the two countries.
As many as 128 Turkish residents are accredited with the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange as of today. In 2025 the sum of exchange deals of the Turkish trade participants increased by 27% to $26.5 million. Via the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange Türkiye bought sawn timber, milk powder, dry milk whey, flax fiber, wheat gluten, wet blue hides, and ferrous metal scrap. In turn, Turkish companies primarily sold raw materials for textile industry to Belarus.
The public joint-stock company (OAO) Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange was established in 2004, with its first trading session conducted in June 2005. BUCE is one of the largest mercantile exchanges in Eastern Europe. Its key function is to assist Belarusian companies with exporting their products and assist foreign companies with entering the Belarusian market. The commodity exchange facilitates trade in metals, timber, agricultural products, and a broad choice of industrial and consumer goods.
