MOSCOW, 27 February (BelTA) – Prime Minister of Russia Mikhail Mishustin has called upon the Russian Federation government to concentrate efforts on expanding trade, economic, scientific, and technological cooperation with Belarus, on stepping up industrial cooperation. The relevant instructions were given at a session of the Council of Ministers of the Russian Federation on 27 February, BelTA learned from the Russian government’s website.

Mikhail Mishustin remarked that a session of the Supreme State Council of the Union State of Belarus and Russia took place in Moscow on 26 February. During the session significant decisions were made to reinforce transport communications, launch direct rail service between neighboring regions of Belarus and Russia, and promote competition in the Union State space as well as active cooperation in the field of international administration of justice. “It is important to make sure that the tasks formulated by our presidents get fulfilled. Among other things it is necessary to ensure proper development of the key guidelines on implementing the Union State Treaty for the next three years,” he stressed.

“We will continue coordinated teamwork of the governments of Russia and Belarus in all of these fields. We will concentrate efforts on expanding trade, economic, scientific, and technical cooperation, on stepping up industrial cooperation. We will continue enabling conditions for increasing the prosperity of citizens of the Union State and conditions conducive to the growth of the national economies,” the Russian Federation prime minister said.

“I’d like you to closely follow the progress of the work in the fields you oversee,” Mikhail Mishustin told members of the Russian government.
