MINSK, 29 October (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko received reports from Chairman of the Board of the National Bank of Belarus Roman Golovchenko and Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Vladimir Karanik on 29 October, the press service of the Belarusian leader told BelTA.

The key topic of Roman Golovchenko’s report was the improvement of the program for Belarus’ socio-economic development until 2030. A working group led by the National Bank head is responsible for this task. The revised document must be submitted to the president by 1 November. Today, the head of state was briefed on the main content of the program, the key sectors, and the areas of focus. The final version of the document will be submitted for approval to the Belarusian People’s Congress, which is scheduled to convene on 18-19 December this year.
Another topic covered in Roman Golovchenko’s report was the practical implementation of instructions given during the president’s meeting with representatives from the National Bank and banking leadership in mid-September. In particular, this involves the banking system's increased involvement in the country's economic development, both in terms of its resource base and inflation issues.

The National Bank head also reported on solutions developed for problematic issues within the bank’s competence, including matters of public concern and citizens’ appeals.

Vladimir Karanik reported on preparations for the president’s upcoming meeting with the scientific community. It was emphasized that science must make a significant contribution to achieving the country’s development goals in the coming five-year period. The focus is on practice-oriented research, strengthening the connection between science and production, import substitution, expanding export potential, and developing innovative areas in demand in the real sector.
Vladimir Karanik also informed the president about specific projects and developments related to earlier instructions given by the head of state.
