MINSK, 23 November (BelTA) – Manufacturers, processing enterprises and trade outlets should be responsible for food prices, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he heard out a report of Vice Premier Aleksandr Subbotin and Agriculture and Food Minister Ivan Krupko on 23 November, BelTA informs.
“Manufacturers, processing enterprises, trade outlets and you should pay attention to prices for agricultural products and food. The main thing is that people with rather low salaries (although we keep our promises here) should be able to buy foodstuffs. People should be fed and clothed. I am not speaking about any helicopter money, I do not mean that we will give them clothes for free. People must take care of themselves,” the Belarusian leader said.
“However, we must take care of such things as inflation, the increase in prices for food [this pertains to the monitoring and control of corresponding processes, prices must be affordable for the population]. This is the area of focus for you and for the government in general,” Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed.
