Details of Lukashenko's closed-door meeting with Minsk Oblast officials

MINSK, 29 June (BelTA) – On 26 June Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko met with Minsk Oblast officials and top executives in Soligorsk. The Belarus 1 TV channel showed excerpts of the closed-door meeting that were not publicized before, BelTA has learned.

In particular, the head of state spoke about geopolitics and commented on the feud between the United States of America and China and conflicts in various parts of the world. The president also discussed the role and place of Belarus in international relations.

The president noted: the number one question now is not who will become Belarus' next president (though this matter is also very important), but how international conflicts will affect the country in the future. “One wrong move – and we will be buried under the rubble of disagreements, conflicts and empires,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

The head of state also gave his take on the course of the electoral process in Belarus. In his words, there are attempts to foment tensions in the country, therefore, the government is taking preemptive measures. “If we had not brought some people down to earth, Soligorsk would also have been running wild today,” the head of state said.

Addressing the officials, the president warned them that he is not going to stop his fight against corruption in the country.
