Belarusian parliament's upper chamber to provide final expert evaluation of legislation

MINSK, 11 June (BelTA) – Chairwoman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Natalya Kochanova will have to organize the final expert evaluation of laws and regulations before the head of state has to sign them. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko gave the relevant instruction during the government conference held on 11 June to discuss the legal regulation of economic activities, BelTA has learned.

Aleksandr Lukashenko said: “The Council of the Republic and you personally will have to take care of it. We don't want any blunders or someone incorporating what life doesn't need today into the legislation. There are experienced people, people from the production sector in the Council of the Republic. This is why it will be necessary to set up a team of good lawyers, philosophers, jurists, and other people, who will work under the Council of the Republic and will take a closer look at the viability and practical aspects of the most important documents.”
