FM: Belarus ready for negotiations with sensible Western partners

MINSK, 12 July (BelTA) – Belarus is ready for talks with any partner, but so far it has not heard a single sound voice in the choir of the collective West, Belarus' Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei said in an interview with RT TV channel, BelTA has learned.

“We would like to settle any conflicts with the help of a calm, normal, inclusive dialogue. This applies both to the domestic political situation and foreign policy. We know firsthand what conflicts, wars, and revolutions are. We have survived two world wars, or rather, two world wars swept through our country. We know their consequences for the Belarusian nation. This is why we have never been a source of tensions and will never be,” Vladimir Makei said.

Belarus is interested in a dialogue and has never been the first to aggravate the relations. Belarus has just responded to the restrictive measures imposed against it, he noted. “We are ready to sit down at the negotiating table with any partner who is willing to talk. Unfortunately, so far, we have not heard a single sound voice in the choir of the collective West, in the choir of European voices set against Belarus. However, I would like to stress it again – we are ready for a dialogue. We are ready to discuss specific cooperation avenues, if our partners are open and sincere with us,” Vladimir Makei said.
