Szmydt: ‘Expressing your views is not safe in Poland’

MINSK, 8 May (BelTA) – It is not safe to express your views in Poland, Polish judge Tomasz Szmydt said in an interview with the Solovyov Live project, BelTA has learned.

"I tried not to express my views, because doing it is not safe in Poland, especially in my line of work. Some of my acquaintances know about my views. Someone told the people in high office about my views, and since then my problems have begun to snowball in Poland," Tomasz Szmydt said.

"Since then, I have been considered a threat. I started getting threatening calls. Strangers started coming up to me and telling me that something bad could happen to me. In the end, my friends told me that the special services were manufacturing a case against me, that they wanted to lock me up and that I had one last chance to get out," the judge added.
