MINSK, 9 October (BelTA) – Belarusian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to India and concurrently to Sri Lanka Mikhail Kasko met with Minister of Foreign Affairs Vijitha Herath of Sri Lanka, on 9 October, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current agenda for cooperation in the run-up to the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The discussions touched upon visa regime facilitation and the anticipated positive effects from the launch of a direct flight between Belarus and Sri Lanka.
The Sri Lankan side expressed interest in implementing Belarusian investment projects on its territory and in expanding trade and economic cooperation between Minsk and Colombo.
