MINSK, 5 April (BelTA) – Belarus' parliamentary delegation headed by Chairperson of the Council of the Republic Natalya Kochanova will be on a visit to Uzbekistan on 5-8 April, BelTA learned from the press service of the Council of the Republic.
The delegation will take part in the General Debate of the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the world's oldest international parliamentary organization with more than 180 members. The Inter-Parliamentary Union closely cooperates with the UN, shares its goals and objectives and seeks to perform the role of its parliamentary dimension.
The Belarusian delegation will also participate in the 4th Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network. The Non-Aligned Movement is the largest group of states after the UN. It is a forum of 121 countries that are not formally aligned with or against any major power bloc; 17 states and 10 international organizations have an observer status in NAM.
