MINSK, 5 August (BelTA) - Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maksim Ryzhenkov and Indonesia's Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan reaffirmed commitment to strengthening Belarus-Indonesia cooperation in agriculture, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Food security has become one of Indonesia's top priorities, making cooperation with Belarus on the supply of agricultural machinery, fertilizers, and food products particularly crucial at this time.

Belarus stands ready not only to supply food products (meat, dairy, poultry) but also to provide Indonesian partners with technologies and full project support for local food security initiatives.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Maksim Ryzhenkov held substantive discussions with Indonesia's Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman, identifying multiple promising avenues for bilateral cooperation.

Maksim Ryzhenkov extended an open invitation to Andi Amran Sulaiman to visit Belarus at his earliest convenience. The Belarusian side suggested timing the visit to coincide with major international events, particularly the Belagro 2026 agricultural expo.

The parties agreed to conduct thorough evaluations and coordinate follow-up efforts regarding the supply of agricultural products in demand across both Belarusian and Indonesian markets.

Maksim Ryzhenkov's visit to Indonesia marks the first official trip by a Belarusian MFA official since the opening of Belarus’ Embassy in Jakarta in 2012.
