MINSK, 7 March (BelTA) – A working meeting on the development of Belarus-Uzbekistan cooperation took place at the Belarusian State Committee for Standardization (Gosstandart), BelTA learned from the committee’s press service.
The meeting was initiated by the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Davron Vakhabov, with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Belarus Rakhmatulla Nazarov also part of the meeting.
The Belarusian delegation was headed by Chairwoman of Gosstandart Yelena Morgunova. The delegation also included heads of relevant departments and institutes of the committee.
The agenda focused on issues of facilitating mutually complementary, barrier-free trade. In particular, the discussion covered the supply of household appliances and construction materials. It was noted that these procedures largely coincide, and any remaining individual issues can be resolved through direct contacts between manufacturers and quality infrastructure organizations of the two countries.
During the meeting, matters related to the reform of the technical regulation system in Uzbekistan were also touched upon.
“We are open to dialogue, always ready to provide assistance, and to work out the necessary documents or agreements to ensure mutually beneficial conditions for trade in goods,” Yelena Morgunova noted.
Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Davron Vakhabov welcomed the productive discussion and reaffirmed the intention to develop trade and economic cooperation in the interests of both countries.
The visit of Uzbekistani entrepreneurs to Belarus is taking place pursuant to the agreements reached during the official visit of the Belarusian prime minister to Uzbekistan in February 2026, and on the instruction of Uzbekistan’s Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov.
