Belarus considering visa waivers for several Latin American countries

MOSCOW, 9 April (BelTA) – Belarus is working on introducing visa waivers for a number of Latin American countries, Belarus’ Ambassador to Russia Aleksandr Rogozhnik said at the 4th Belarus-Latin America Forum in Moscow on 9 April, BelTA has learned.

“I invite all of you, as well as representatives of the business community of your countries, to visit Belarus and personally study its industrial potential,” said Aleksandr Rogozhnik, addressing the delegates from the Latin American countries. “Traveling to Belarus will definitely become easier for one country soon. Today, before the forum, Belarus has signed an intergovernmental agreement on visa abolition with Colombia. I know that the work on similar agreements is also underway with some of the countries whose ambassadors are present here,” the diplomat added.

“I am convinced that cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and Latin American countries has a lot of potential,” the ambassador remarked.

The forum was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus jointly with the National Center for Marketing and Price Study. It brought together ambassadors and senior diplomats of the embassies of Cuba, Venezuela, Argentina, Mexico, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Colombia and a number of other countries. The event is structured into two blocks: “Mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and metallurgy” and “Chemistry in agriculture. Petrochemistry.” The forum includes presentations by Belarus’ leading enterprises in these industries and speeches by their managers, as well as negotiations in the B2B format.
