Positive image of Belarusian products in Russia's Yakutia noted

MINSK, 5 July (BelTA) – Belarusian products have a positive image in Russia's Yakutia, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Economy Ministry.

Belarusian Deputy Economy Minister Sergei Mityansky, who heads the Belarusian part of the working group on Belarus-Yakutia cooperation, held talks via videoconferencing with representative of the government of Yakutia Andrei Tarasenko.

The key matter on the agenda of the talks was the action plan to execute the agreement on trade, economic, and cultural cooperation between Belarus' and Yakutia's governments for 2021-2024.

According to Sergei Mityansky, the action plan was drawn up by Belarusian and Russian experts with assistance from relevant government agencies. “I believe that the plan will serve as a roadmap for expanding cooperation in all fields. The document is rather brief but concise. It touches upon all the main cooperation areas,” he noted.

Sergei Mityansky and Andrei Tarasenko stressed the importance of continuous efforts to intensify cooperation, signed the action plan, and expressed hope that its execution will help strengthen mutually beneficial ties and increase trade.

Belarusian goods have a positive image in Yakutia, Andrei Tarasenko pointed out. According to him, there is a need to establish trade and maintenance centers of road construction equipment and intercity buses. The light industry and food industry are also seen as priority cooperation areas. The Russian region is also interested in services in culture and education.

Andrei Tarasenko invited a Belarusian delegation to visit Yakutia in August-September 2021. The parties agreed to look into matters on the agenda and discuss them with representatives of ministries and government agencies, enterprises and organizations during the visit.
