Moscow to host CIS Economic Forum on 28 March

MOSCOW, 19 March (BelTA) – The CIS International Economic Forum will take place in Moscow on 28 March, BelTA learned from the organizers.

“Annually confirming the status of the leading discussion platform, the event will become the CIS central event to discuss the issues of interaction between business and the state in the context of modern challenges of the global and regional economy,” the organizing committee of the forum said.

Plans are in place to discuss measures of state support for scientific, innovative and investment projects, as well as the development of Eurasian production and logistics chains. The focus will be on stimulating economic cooperation, developing joint initiatives in science and technology, creating conditions for the successful implementation of innovative projects.

Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Karanik, Russia Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk, First Deputy Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kholiqzoda Hokim Hikmatullo, CIS Secretary General Sergei Lebedev, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Bakytzhan Sagintayev, State Secretary of the Union State Dmitry Mezentsev and other speakers are scheduled to address the plenary session.

The forum will feature eight round tables devoted to further integration prospects, and also to the problems of scientific and technological progress in key sectors of the CIS economies. Representatives of the CIS industry councils, the CIS Executive Committee, the Eurasian Economic Commission, the SCO Secretariat and BRICS bodies are expected to take part.
