
MINSK, 11 August (BelTA) – China has expressed interest in helping Belarus modernize cement plants and oil refineries. The matter was discussed during a meeting between Belarusian Deputy Economy Minister Alesya Abramenko and Li Guangyin, head of foreign economic and technical cooperation at China National Machinery Industry Corporation (CMIC), BelTA learned from the press service of the Economy Ministry of Belarus.
The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Architecture and Construction Ministry, the Belarusian State Concern for Oil and Chemistry (Belneftekhim Concern), the Belarusian Glass Company, Mozyr and Naftan oil refineries.
“The strategic partnership between our countries is based on industrial cooperation,” Alesya Abramenko noted. “Belarus’ expertise combined with China’s advanced technologies is a key element in building a shared future.” Li Guangyin delivered a company presentation, outlining CMIC’s key areas, innovative solutions and potential avenues for bilateral collaboration. The Chinese side confirmed its interest in helping Belarus its modernize its cement and oil refining facilities.
“Belarus’s industrial sector aims to build up its capabilities and assimilate new technologies, particularly in cooperation with China. For our part, we are keen to discuss practical areas of mutually beneficial cooperation,” Alesya Abramenko emphasized.
