MINSK, 8 October (BelTA) - The Belarusian car manufacturer BelGee plans to expand its lineup with a new electric vehicle model, the Geely EX2, BelGee Director General Gennady Svidersky said during the 7th scientific and practical conference “Electric Transport: Reality and Prospects” held as part of the Belarusian Energy and Environment Forum, BelTA has learned.
He stressed that the Geely EX2 is scheduled to enter the market in November 2025. “The presentation will take place at the motor show on 15 October. In our opinion, it can serve both for urban use by legal entities and as a second car for private owners,” the director general emphasized.
In 2025, the company approved a production plan for four models. Three of these models are fully electric, while one is a hybrid. The BelGee X80 PHEV is a hybrid vehicle that has both an electric motor and an internal combustion engine. “We believe it will gain the widest distribution in the [Belarus-Russia] Union State market. We have been working to deeply localize this model and have already started production. It has been available at all dealerships in Belarus since 25 September. We expect it to enter the Russian market from the second half of next year or possibly earlier. The Geely EX5 has been launched this year, and we are seeing steady demand for it. It is a family car with clear mass‑market potential. The BelGee X80 PHEV, based on pre-orders and initial sales, also seems to become a mainstream model in the Union State. We have high expectations for it,” Gennady Svidersky said.
He remarked that 2025 marks the start of electric vehicle production at BelGee. He underlined that production can only be successful if there are no restrictions on sales markets, and highlighted the need to develop harmonized requirements within the Union State.
BelGee unveiled its first electric vehicle, the Geely EX5, on 23 May 2025.
