MINSK, 20 November (BelTA) – The Belarusian nuclear power plant has been granted the license to perform fireproofing work, the press service of the state enterprise Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant told BelTA.
The enterprise has successfully passed the licensing procedure and has been granted the right to independently perform fire protection operations, in particular, the work involving fire retardants.
Getting the new license is an important step that allows the Belarusian nuclear power plant to promptly and properly perform the work to protect structures and equipment from catching fire by using its own qualified resources, the press service said.
During an expert evaluation performed by specialists of the Grodno Oblast branch of the Emergencies Ministry the enterprise’s technical facilities were examined, the qualification of the personnel was verified, the control system and the preparedness for emergencies were analyzed as well as the local legal acts that regulate the operation of the nuclear power plant’s professional emergency-response, fire-fighting and rescue services.
After thoroughly evaluating the submitted materials and compliance with requirements of the licensing law the Emergencies Ministry experts presented a positive conclusion on all the aspects.
On the basis of this decision the state enterprise Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant has been granted the license that confirms its readiness and competence to independently perform fire protection operations, in particular, the work involving fire retardants.
