MINSK, 15 July (BelTA) – Belarus has fully repaid the $440 million bridge loan provided by VTB Bank in December, BelTA learnt from Spokesperson for the Finance Ministry Irina Komar.
Belarus repaid the loan in June. In line with the loan agreement, the Belarusian Finance Ministry fully paid off the bridge loan provided by Russia's VTB Bank in December 2013, Irina Komar informed.
At the end of June VTB Bank provided Belarus with a $2 billion loan. The money was used to replenish Belarus' gold and foreign exchange reserves. In June 2014 Belarus' gold and foreign exchange reserves expanded by $1,033.3 million in the IMF standards to reach the equivalent of about $6,426 million as of 1 July 2014.
