Belarus, Kazakhstan deepen trade, economic ties

MINSK, 11 October (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Kazakhstan Aleksei Bogdanov met with General Director of Kazakhstan’s Rodina Agrofirm Ivan Sauer and the founder of the BELOSTAN.KZ company on 9 October, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Astana.

The parties agreed to begin deliveries of dairy products from Rodina Agrofirm to the shelves of the Belorusskie Produkty [Belarusian goods] retail network in Astana and Akmola Oblast. Commenting on the initiative, Ambassador Aleksei Bogdanov stated: “This project will bring together high‑quality products from Belarus and Kazakhstan on one shelf.”

Following the meeting, a cooperation agreement was signed between Rodina Agrofirm and BELOSTAN.KZ.
The embassy noted that Kazakhstan ranks among Belarus’ top ten trading partners by export volume. Bilateral contacts are supported in part by the work of the Belarus-Kazakhstan intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation.

Regular meetings are held within the framework of the subcommission on industrial cooperation and mutual trade, the working group on promising areas of agricultural cooperation, and the joint commission on international road transport. Scientific and technical coordination is carried out through the Belarus-Kazakhstan commission. The Belarus-Kazakhstan business cooperation council convenes annually.
