Belarus’ investment support measures presented at SCO event 

 MINSK, 19 March (BelTA) – Kazakhstan's capital of Astana hosted the first meeting of the Association of Investors of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states. Director of the National Agency for Investment and Privatization Dmitry Krasovsky, representing Belarus, spoke about preferential regimes and support measures for investors in Belarus, BelTA learned from the National Agency for Investment and Privatization (NAIP). 

The first meeting was held in the Astana International Financial Center in the capital of Kazakhstan. It was attended by heads and representatives of investment agencies, specialized departments of ministries and chambers of commerce of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states. The participants of the meeting discussed current and promising areas of cooperation in the field of investment and exchanged views on possible areas of joint work in the SCO space. The Association's work plan for 2025 was also approved. 

Characterizing the position of Belarus on the investment map of the SCO member states, Dmitry Krasovsky touted the new mechanisms - a special investment treaty and budget transfers, which became available as the law on investments was updated in 2024.

The Investors Association is a multilateral, consulting and expert platform for the development of the direct and portfolio investment market in the SCO format, attracting them to the priority sectors of the economies of the countries and comprehensive support of investment projects. It was established by the decision of the Council of Heads of the SCO Member States at the SCO Astana Summit on 4 July 2024.
