MOSCOW, 19 February (BelTA) - Belarusian Ambassador to Russia Yuri Seliverstov held a meeting with Viktor Zagorets, General Director of Luchshiye Tseny [Best Prices] (operator of the ChesnOK discount store chain), BelTA learned from the press service of the embassy.
“Yuri Seliverstov positively noted the chain’s work in promoting Belarusian brands and concluding direct contracts with domestic producers. The cooperation of our enterprises with the ChesnOK chain makes it possible to accomplish the task set by the head of state: to develop direct sales to Russia without unjustified intermediaries, to establish a long-term presence in the Russian retail market, and to increase exports on convenient delivery terms with stable shipment volumes,” the press service said.
Viktor Zagorets provided information on cooperation with Belarusian producers and plans for the project’s development. “They agreed to jointly scale up the ongoing work to expand the presence of Belarusian products on the Russian market,” the embassy emphasized.
The share of Belarusian goods in the total turnover of the ChesnOK chain has reached 65% and continues to grow. Currently, the chain encompasses 44 stores (including in Smolensk, Bryansk, Kaluga, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Oryol, and Lipetsk) and two distribution centers (in Smolensk and Podolsk), with long-term plans for the project’s development.
