MINSK, 24 January (BelTA) – The Association of Belarusian Banks and the Vietnam Banking Association have signed a memorandum of cooperation during a videoconference meeting. The document was penned by Chairman of the Association of Belarusian Banks Mikhail Provorov and Vice Chairman - Secretary General of the Vietnam Banking Association Nguyen Quoc Hung, BelTA learned from Press Secretary of the Association of Belarusian Banks Pavel Simonov.
A preliminary agreement on signing the memorandum was reached in October last year during Mikhail Provorov's business trip to Vietnam as part of the delegation of the National Bank of Belarus.
“We agreed to exchange best practices, arrange personnel training activities, and implement other joint projects. There is a mutual interest in cooperation on the part of the financial institutions of our countries,” Mikhail Provorov noted.
The Association of Belarusian Banks was founded in 1990 to coordinate the work of the country's lending and financial institutions. Its members are all banks and non-bank financial institutions of the country, as well as 12 organizations providing financial services. The association is one of the founders and a member of the International Coordinating Council of Banking Associations in the CIS, Central and Eastern Europe, as well as the Financial and Business Association of Euro-Asian Cooperation.
