Kabardino-Balkarian State University to get collection of Belarusian books

MINSK, 16 March (BelTA) – A collection of Belarusian books will be sent to Kabardino-Balkarian State University in Russia, Yelena Stelmakh, First Deputy Chairperson of the Belarusian Writers' Union, said at the union's meeting on 16 March, BelTA has learned.

“Kabardino-Balkarian State University has launched a Belarusian language course. The many years of cooperation between the philologists of Kabardino-Balkarian State University and Alexander Pushkin Brest State University resulted in this project, and now students in Russia's Kabardino-Balkaria study Belarusian. The collection of Belarusian literature classics and modern works has been assembled on the initiative of the Belarusian Writers' Union,” Yelena Stelmakh said. The collection includes books about Francysk Skaryna, the capital city of Minsk and the country in general. It will be complemented with issues of Vyasyolka, a famous Belarusian children's magazine.

The cooperation will contribute to the strengthening of the ties, the understanding between the people of Belarus and Russia's Kabardino-Balkaria, and the promotion of the Belarusian language abroad, Yelena Stelmakh noted.
