MINSK, 12 April (BelTA) – The foreign ministers of the CIS member states have adopted a joint statement on ensuring safe working conditions for media workers and preventing infringement of their rights. The statement was passed at the CIS Foreign Ministers Council meeting in Minsk, CIS Secretary General Sergei Lebedev told reporters, BelTA has learned.
“It is our sacred duty to do everything we can to ensure free and productive work of journalists. This is not the first statement of the CIS in support of journalistic work. We are genuinely interested in getting objective coverage of our activities in the media,” said Sergei Lebedev.
