Belarus hopes to develop political, trade and economic relations with Vietnam

MINSK, 27 June (BelTA) – Belarus hopes to develop political, trade and economic relations with Vietnam, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said during the one-on-one talks with Vietnam President Tran Dai Quang on 27 June, BelTA has learned.

“I think that there is no need to speak about things uniting our peoples. We have a big history of good relations. Belarusian people have always been with you, especially in the difficult moments of your history,” the head of state said. “Every Vietnamese remembers that war and the price that you had to pay for freedom and independence. We also remember it. We were there with you at the Vietnamese soil. After that terrible war we were doing our best to help our Vietnamese brothers with the restoration of the country and its economy, the normalization of life.”

“We will always be committed to such relations and this course. We hope that our relations will have good prospects, that there will be good trade between our countries and good political relations. We can always count on us,” Alexander Lukashenko emphasized.

The president remarked that there will be the talks with the Vietnamese leader and a joint meeting with entrepreneurs, businessmen on 27 June. They will discuss projects which can be implemented in Belarus and Vietnam. “We will do everything to implement our agreements,” the head of state added.
