Six Belarusian banks move up Top 200 CIS Banks ranking

MINSK, 28 September (BelTA) – Six Belarusian banks have improved their positions in the RIA Rating's Top 200 CIS Banks ranking, BelTA informs.

Nine Belarusian banks are included in the RIA Rating's ranking. These are Belarusbank, Belinvestbank, Belgazprombank, VTB, Alfa-Bank, Priorbank, Belagroprombank, BPS-Sberbank, BelVEB.

Belarus' largest bank Belarusbank kept the 14th position in the ranking. Belinvestbank moved up from the 77th position to the 75th position, BelVEB – from the 95th position to the 81st position, Belgazprombank – from the 103rd position to the 90th position, Priorbank – from the 108th position to the 106th position, VTB – from the 154th position to the 153rd position, Alfa-Bank – from the 197th position to the 159th position.

The positions of two Belarusian banks worsened. Belagroprombank moved down from the 34th position to the 37th position, BPS-Sberbank – from the 49th to the 53rd position.

There are about 1,000 banks in the CIS countries. Russian banks account for 58% of those included in the ranking, Kazakhstani banks – for 9.5%, Ukrainian banks – for 8.5%, Uzbek banks – for 5.5%, Belarusian banks – for 4.5%.
