Minister: Belarus increases exports to friendly countries

MINSK, 25 April (BelTA) – Belarus has significantly increased exports to friendly countries, Belarusian Economy Minister Yuri Chebotar told the media, BelTA has learned.

“The president emphasized that we have ensured macroeconomic balance, financial stability, restored the economic growth. Both 2023 and the start of the current year have witnessed lower inflation rates. This, accordingly, drives up our real incomes, real wages,” Yuri Chebotar said.

The head of state noted that we managed to increase the impressive export potential. “We have significantly increased our exports. Last year alone, exports to friendly countries went up by more than 20%. Exports soared by 40% to Asian countries, and more than doubled to Latin and Central America. This helps us increase our foreign exchange earnings and gold and foreign currency reserves,” the minister said. “The Belarusian ruble has been stable for a number of years. This contributes to the stable purchasing power of our people.”

As for the social welfare, the minister said: “We have significantly increased the construction of social infrastructure in this five-year period. We are commissioning new schools, kindergartens, clinics, modernizing the existing infrastructure of the healthcare system. These achievements are visible to every citizen”.
