Plans for logistics company powered by Belarusian trucks in Russia's Vologda Oblast

VOLOGDA, 13 October (BelTA) – The Vologda Oblast government suggests creating a logistics transport company based on MAZ prime movers in the region, BelTA learned from Vologda Oblast Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov.

“We have suggested setting up a Belarusian-Russian logistics company powered by MAZ trucks instead of Scania or Volvo trucks in order to transport cargoes between the two countries,” said Oleg Kuvshinnikov.

According to the governor, he intends to visit Belarus early next year and put forth the proposal before the country's leadership. “We hope the Belarusian head of state will support us,” he noted.

Belarusian and Russian reporters met with the governor as part of the media tour meant to highlight Vologda Oblast as the largest Belarusian-Russian mechanical engineering cluster. The media tour had been organized by the Standing Committee of the Union State of Belarus and Russia and the international news agency Russia Today (RT).
