Minsk, Kiev ready for full-fledged cooperation

MINSK, 5 April (BelTA) – Minsk and Kiev are ready to develop full-fledged cooperation, first of all, in the trade and economic area, BelTA learned from the website of the Belarusian embassy in Ukraine after the meeting between Belarus' Vice Premier Vladimir Semashko and Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko.

“Vladimir Semashko and Vitali Klitschko discussed the state of cooperation between Minsk and Kiev which accounts for 38% of Belarus-Ukraine total trade. The parties also talked over the ways to develop full-fledged relations, first of all, in the trade and economic area,” the embassy said.

Vladimir Semashko and Vitali Klitschko attended a ceremony to open the exhibition of passenger and utility vehicles of the Belarusian companies MAZ, Amkodor, Belkommunmash and MTZ at the basis of the utilities service of the Kiev State Administration and a presentation of financial instruments necessary to purchase the equipment. The presentation included a display of financial instruments from Belarusian banks and profile organizations.

Vladimir Semashko also met with Ukraine's Vice Premier, Minister for Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities Hennadiy Zubko. The parties considered a wide range of issues, including petrochemistry, energy, logistics, industrial cooperation, agro-industry, transport, and also took stock of the progress made in the implementation of the decisions made at the 24th meeting of the Belarusian-Ukrainian intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation in Minsk on 10 November 2016.
