Long-term strategy to develop Belarusian SMEs to be presented in March

MINSK, 23 February (BelTA) – A strategy to develop Belarusian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) till 2030 is set to be presented before the general public in March, BelTA learned from the entrepreneur Viktor Margelov, member of the working group on business stimulation, exclusion of excessive demands on business entities, and control and oversight improvement, on 23 February.

He said that the working group is actively involved in the preparation of the development strategy. “The working group severely criticized the first edition of the strategy. The second edition is close to completion and is significantly better. There are still some issues the working group has to address. We hope that the draft of the document's body will be presented before the general public next month,” Viktor Margelov noted.

He said that the working group had had two meetings so far. “Today saw the first meeting of the subgroup on trade, catering and services. The meeting participants discussed about 40 proposals to be submitted to the Belarus President Administration. Another meeting will take place next week to discuss another package of proposals,” Viktor Margelov noted.

He stated that the entrepreneurs are also actively involved in the drafting of the 2017 Belarus National Business Platform. “The document presents our vision of the key issues in a systematic manner,” Viktor Margelov said.
