KAZAN, 26 May (BelTA) – The countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) should coordinate their programs for import substitution in agriculture, Belarusian Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov told the media after the session of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Kazan on 26 May, BelTA has learned.
“All the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union are interested in developing their agricultural sectors, and all the states actively implement their import substitution programs. We should coordinate our programs and aim at minimizing imports from outside the EAEU,” Andrei Kobyakov said.
The heads of government of the EAEU member states agreed that the work will be continued at the level of the agriculture ministers. A sectoral council of agriculture ministers will be set up for this purpose.
