Brest Oblast agricultural manufacturers invited to Kaliningrad trade shows

BREST, 28 April (BelTA) – The agricultural manufacturers of Belarus' Brest Oblast were invited to take part in Kaliningrad trade shows, Vice President of Kaliningrad Chamber of Commerce and Industry Marina Fitsak told the media on 28 April, BelTA has learned.

Brest is playing host to a business matchmaking session for representatives of Kaliningrad Oblast's business community interested in cooperation with the entrepreneurs and companies of Brest Oblast. “We came here to discuss the ways of developing agriculture, exchanging experience, and setting up joint ventures. In turn, we invite you to take part in Kaliningrad summer agricultural trade shows and the international forum Farm 39,” Marina Fitsak said.

The Kaliningrad delegation was also interested in Belarusian seed, young trees, and agricultural equipment. As a result of the negotiations, OAO Brestselmash found a potential partner. “Currently we are exporting heat generators and burners to the companies of Kaliningrad Oblast. During the negotiations they showed interest in our grain drying and fertilizer equipment. Kaliningrad-based OOO Trakenen does not have big production capacities. I think there is a demand for grain dryers with a drying capacity of 5 to 10 tonnes per hour,” OAO Brestselmash marketing specialist Viktor Bogdanov remarked.

In turn, Russian businessmen presented some projects that can be carried out in Brest Oblast. Representatives of the Brestmyasomolprom concern became interested in the project offered by OOO Ras. The latter specializes in automated technologies. “We develop technologies to automate canning production. Some Brest companies operate manual autoclaves and workshops. Managers do understand that technologies should be updated. We can help them. We equip companies with automated equipment and provide maintenance and consulting services as well,” OOO Ras Technical Director Mikhail Shabalin said.

The participants of the business matchmaking session discussed export of Belarusian food products to the distribution networks of Kaliningrad Oblast and import of sanitary equipment and consumer electronics from Kaliningrad Oblast to Brest Oblast.
