MINSK, 13 November (BelTA) – A project to build a Belarusian residential district can be implemented in Kaliningrad, Governor of Russia's Kaliningrad Oblast Anton Alikhanov said at the session of the Belarusian-Russian council on long-term cooperation between Belarus and the Russian region in Minsk on 13 November, BelTA has learned.
According to him, the city authorities can allot a land plot with all necessary infrastructure in the center of Kaliningrad for the Belarusian neighborhood project. The region is interested in the participation of Belarusian specialists in other large-scale construction projects and in Belarus' assistance as the city is gearing up for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Next year Kaliningrad will continue a large-scale program to replace the elevators in residential houses and is set to use around RUB30-35 million for these purposes. A project on setting up a joint assembly of elevators in the Russian region is in the works.
