Belarus, Russian Sberbank discussing promising joint projects

MINSK, 19 September (BelTA) – Promising joint projects were discussed as Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei Rumas met with representatives of the Russian bank Sberbank led by First Deputy Chairman of the Board Lev Khasis, BelTA has learned.

Sergei Rumas praised Sberbank's contribution to the implementation of projects of importance for the national economy and the production sector. In his words, today the Belarusian economy contains about $3.8 billion in resources provided by Sberbank via various channels. “All the resources have been made available on market conditions. It means these are mutually beneficial projects. Beneficial for Belarus and Sberbank,” stressed the Belarusian head of government.

In his words, the development of cutting-edge banking and information technologies is a priority cooperation avenue. The prime minister also said he was confident that future cooperation will be fruitful and mutually beneficial.

In turn, Lev Khasis noted that the Belarusian market is a strategic and promising market for Sberbank. He said the bank is ready to discuss a large number of matters in order to invigorate cooperation with Belarus in various areas.
