Belarus' Planar Holding Company revenue up 14% in 2017

MINSK, 16 February (BelTA) – Planar Holding Company increased the revenue by 14% in 2017, Director General of Planar Company Gennady Kovalchuk told the media on 15 February, BelTA has learned.

“We met the key targets in 2017. The revenue growth rate made up 114%, the profit margin was 14.6%. The net profit stood at Br8.53 million. Another important indicator is the average wage growth rate, which totaled 119% in 2017,” Gennady Kovalchuk said.

Planar Holding Company exports nearly $5.5 million worth of products a year (70% of the output), mainly equipment to manufacture microelectronic devices. The company also plans to export artificial heart valves.

Planar is taking part in Luch, a Belarus-Russia Union State program to develop standard design and manufacturing technologies for nanostructured microelectronics and optoelectronics, devices, systems on their basis, and equipment for production and testing for the period up to 2019. A concept of another Union State program, Bezopasnost SG (Union State Safety), has been drafted and is now being agreed upon by the concerned Belarusian and Russian ministries and government bodies. The program is designed to develop technical means to prevent natural and man-made disasters, ensure environmental and other kinds of safety on the basis of innovative radioelectronic technologies and double-purpose microsystem technologies.
