Belarus' oil exports up 0.9% in January-August

MINSK, 20 October (BelTA) – In January-August 2016, Belarus increased its oil exports by 0.9% to reach 1,082,000 tonnes as compared with the same period last year, BelTA learned from the National Statistics Committee.

The oil exports totaled $295.5 million (down 29.1%). Apart from that, Belarus exported 10,304,000 tonnes of oil products (down 9.9%) worth $3 billion (in January-August 2015, the figure stood at some $4.8 billion).

In January-August 2016, Belarus cut the import of crude oil by 9.5% to 13.9 million tonnes. The country bought more than $2.9 billion worth of oil. This makes up 71.6% of the sum Belarus paid for the oil imported in January-August 2015. The average price per one tonne of oil was $210.3 ($265.7 in January-August 2015).

Belarus imported 1 million tonnes of oil products (up 27.1%) to the total tune of $330.2 million. The average price was $328.3 per tonne as against $356.5 in January-August 2015.
