Belarus eager to sell geological prospecting services to Vietnam

MINSK, 16 October (BelTA) – Belarus is exploring the possibility of selling geological prospecting services to Vietnam, BelTA learned from Belarusian Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Minister Andrei Khudyk.

The official noted that a number of Belarusian companies and organizations offer geological services abroad. They drill wells, extract natural resources, participate in geophysical, engineering, and geological studies for civil engineering purposes. The state enterprise R&D Center for Geology, which is run by the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Ministry, is now exploring the possibility of providing geological services in Egypt, Sudan, Vietnam, and Russia.

The Belarusian industrial group Belorusneft, OAO Belgorkhimprom, and Geoservice Company have been operating in CIS states such as Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and Ukraine for quite some time. In 2017 Belorusneft carried out areal geophysical exploration work in Ecuador and Ukraine. The company helped analyze sustainable oil extraction levels and perform hydrodynamic calculations at the Chabua oil field in the State of Assam, India. Other services are also rendered such as major overhaul operations, sidetracking, coiled tubing, telemetric support in Ukraine and hydraulic fracturing operations in Russia.
