All restrictions on Belarus' export of powdered milk to Russia lifted

RECHITSA DISTRICT, 22 July (BelTA) – Currently there are no restrictions on the supply of powdered milk to the Russian Federation, Belarus' Agriculture and Food Minister Leonid Zayats, who is in Gomel Oblast on a working trip, told BelTA.

According to the Minister, there was a time when Russia had some complaints regarding the content of protein in milk. The Agriculture and Food Ministry recommended the dairy companies that supply products to foreign markets to pay attention to this issue. “As a result, the issue was settled. Now the situation is routine and manageable,” Leonid Zayats said.

Not so long ago, a meeting was held between representatives of the two countries' veterinary supervision services. The parties discussed all issues regarding the quality of food products and the enterprises that produce them. “We reached a complete understanding with Russian counterparts not only on powdered milk but on other types of dairy products. The process is now in a routine mode,” Leonid Zayats said.
