TOKYO, 29 July (BelTA) – The Women's 25m Pistol competitions have kicked off at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, BelTA has learned.
Viktoria Chaika of Belarus scored 291 points to place 8th among 44 competitors on the first qualification day. The experienced Belarusian athlete is taking part in her sixth Olympic Games. At the 2008 Beijing Games Viktoria Chaika finished 4th in the Women's 10m Air Pistol.
Serbia's Zorana Arunovic is leading after the first qualification day with 296 points. She is followed by Greece's Anna Korakaki (294) and Antoaneta Kostadinova of Bulgaria (293).
The eight best athletes in qualification will continue their contention for Olympic medals.
